MISSION STATEMENT
The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.
The mission of the Arc is:
· To promote the general welfare of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Mississippi
· To serve as parent support and advocacy
· To further research on all aspects of the condition of intellectual and developmental cause, prevention, medical, social treatment and methods of special education
· To better understand the condition of intellectual and developmental disabilities, and cooperate with all public, private, religious agencies.
· To further training, education, and recruitment of personal to work in the field of disabilities
· To encourage the formation of local units
· To further the implementation of legislation on behalf of persons with disabilities
· To serve as a clearing house of information on disabilities
· To develop and foster programs for persons with disabilities or to educate others
· To solicit and collect funds for the above objectives
· To further the objectives for the Arc of the United States
