The Arc advocates for and serves people with I/DD, including Down syndrome, autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, cerebral palsy and other diagnoses. The Arc has a network of 700 chapters across the country promoting and protecting the human rights of people with I/DD and actively supporting their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes and without regard to diagnosis.

The Arc is not an acronym; always refer to us as The Arc, not The ARC and never ARC. The Arc should be considered as a title or a phrase.

The Arc was built around kitchen tables, as people with disabilities and their families fought for their rights and full inclusion in the community. Today, advocates across the country continue to advocate and share their stories about what it means to live every day with a disability and what is possible with the proper supports and services. Their stories transform legislation and numbers into real-life impact. Through them the mission of the Arc comes to life and demonstrates the importance of building a future that includes all.

We have come a long way over the years but there is still much work to be done! The Arc of Northeast Mississippi continues in the mission of inclusion through advocacy, educational meetings for members on supports and services, community awareness outreach, and inclusive activities...while keeping our grassroots connection with members. Join the Arc today as we carry on our mission and “Achieve with Us!’
