Millions of people with disabilities, including children, rely on Medicaid and CHIP for health care and help with daily tasks—but people often lose benefits because the system is too complex and has confusing rules.
We have until November 7 to urge the Administration to make some important and necessary changes, and you can help!
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has proposed a new rule that would make it easier for eligible people to receive and maintain Medicaid and CHIP coverage, improving access to health care for adults and children with disabilities
.
TAKE ACTION NOW
Among other things, this new rule would:

Streamline and simplify the enrollment and renewal processes for people with disabilities and older adults
Make improvements to CHIP that remove harmful policies used by some states, like waiting periods and enrollment lockouts
Take steps to ease the transition between CHIP and Medicaid to prevent gaps in health care coverage for children
Send a message NOW asking the administration to make access to these critical programs easier so that everyone can get the services they need without needless interruptions!

The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.
